Italo Zucchelli dedicates the Calvin Klein Summer Collection to the evolution of the stereotypical American hero, with a hint of irony, that hero of size, look and style.

Mr. Zucchelli described the new collection as all American sportswear in new, relaxed proportions. Overall, the cuts are graphic and uniform, focused on volume and scale. Cropped and generous, lean and slim. Iconic bomber and motorcycle style jackets are shrunken and counter balanced with a tapered, single pleat, tab-front pant.
For evening, the tuxedo is elegantly relaxed and updated with a mesh lapel in buff on buff bonded wool or charcoal on black. Tones of blue form the base of the collection with engineered and abstract prints inspired by California summers.
Materials. Denim and twill, rinsed and stonewashed, as a classic American base layer. Shades of cool blue prevail. Crew neck mesh t shirts. Airy, semi-transparent nylons for windbreakers; coated nylons for bomber jackets; and supple leathers for the classic moto styles. Suedes are rich and saturated.
Colors. Natural and cool. All American tones of blue form the base of the collection. Rinsed denims, washed twills and coated nylons serve as the canvas for saturated colors or contrasting abstract prints layered with finely textured mesh. Shades of buff, ozone, pacific, and alumina are soft but rugged. Engineered and abstract, prints inspired by California summers, become the focus in multiple executions – printed on cotton twill jackets and shorts, embossed on cotton sateen shirts, or as a jacquard on a cotton silk jacket.
Accessories. Handmade and hand stitched constructions are sporty and linear. A lace up dress shoe is modernized with sport shoe details. Layers of materials with a sandal strap inspiration, allows laces to be disguised under leather tabs. A leather outsole and covered, stacked leather midsole is finished with a unique laser cut logo. Offered in matte calf, rubberized calf, and patent in buff, ozone, and black. The signature sunglasses a sleek and seamless, translucent rectangular frame on frame, available in buff, tortoise, and black.
