The Fashion Radar of Fashionista Smile spotted Marks & Spencer on a defining moment in its fashion story, making its London Fashion Week debut with a landmark catwalk show celebrating 100 years of fashion. Presented at London's Design Museum to an audience including global media, iconic famous faces and key fashion influencers.
Icons including the tuxedo, the white shirt, the twinset, the aviator suede jacket and archival floral prints are reinterpreted for now and styled alongside contemporary wardrobe essentials, creating a collection that feels both timeless and relevant.
For 100 years, M&S has played a role in how Britain dresses. From pioneering lingerie and knitwear innovations to creating fashion moments that have defined generations of wardrobes, the retailer has long been woven into the fabric of the nation's fashion identity. Now, as it celebrates this milestone moment, M&S takes its place on one of the industry's most influential stages, bringing its fashion story to a global audience.
Premium fabrics including fluid satins, luxurious wools, brushed suedes and elevated knit textures bring depth, movement and modernity to the collection, while contemporary proportions, styling and layering techniques create looks that feel both directional and wearable.
Supporting British fashion has always been part of the M&S story. Its London Fashion Week debut marks a significant new chapter, reflecting the growing style authority, customer momentum and cultural relevance of the brand today. True to the values that define M&S, the collection combines exceptional design, trusted quality and outstanding value, with 50% of pieces priced under £50.
In womenswear, there is a compelling interplay between strength and femininity. Sharp tailoring sits alongside fluid separates, textural knitwear, statement outerwear and elevated occasion pieces.
Designed entirely by M&S’ in-house fashion team, the collection marks 100 years since M&S began selling clothing in 1926. Drawing on one of the most extensive archives in British retail, it reinterprets a century of style through a contemporary lens. Familiar signatures are revisited, refined and renewed for a new generation, reflecting the confidence and creativity shaping M&S today.
